Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize physics systems that deliver realistic and responsive gameplay experiences.
- Implement and enhance ball physics, player interactions, collision detection, character movement, and gameplay simulation.
- Collaborate closely with Gameplay Programmers, Game Designers, Animation, and Technical Art teams to create immersive gameplay mechanics.
- Analyze, debug, and optimize physics-related systems for performance, stability, and scalability across supported platforms.
- Develop reusable, maintainable, and high-performance systems using Unreal Engine 5 and modern C++.
- Drive technical discussions, mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and contribute to engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in gameplay or physics programming.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5).
- Deep understanding of rigid body dynamics, collision detection, character physics, constraints, and simulation techniques.
- Experience working with Unreal's Chaos Physics or equivalent physics engines.
- Strong debugging, profiling, and optimization skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a passion for building high-quality gameplay systems.
- Experience working on shipped PC, Console, or Mobile titles is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience developing sports, racing, simulation, or AAA action games.
- Familiarity with networking and multiplayer physics synchronization.
- Experience building custom gameplay physics systems or engine-level features.
- Knowledge of animation systems, inverse kinematics (IK), and procedural motion.
