As we continue to expand our portfolio, we are looking for a highly experienced Lead Game Designer to help shape the vision, systems, and player experience of our next-generation games, with a strong focus on Mid-Core and Free-to-Play (F2P) experiences.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Lead Game Designer who can drive the overall game design vision while leading a multidisciplinary design team. This role requires a deep understanding of Mid-Core gameplay loops, progression systems, player engagement, monetization mechanics, and live-service operations.
You will partner closely with Product, Art, Engineering, Analytics, and Production teams to define and execute compelling player experiences that achieve both player satisfaction and business objectives. The ideal candidate combines strong creative instincts with a highly analytical and data-driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Game Vision & Design Leadership
- Own and drive the overall game design vision, ensuring alignment across gameplay, progression, economy, and monetization systems.
- Define and maintain the game's core pillars, player motivations, and long-term engagement strategy.
- Lead the creation and review of Game Design Documents (GDDs), feature specifications, and design frameworks.
- Establish design best practices, processes, and quality standards across the design team.
Systems & Economy Design
- Design and oversee progression systems, economies, currencies, rewards, retention mechanics, and social features.
- Create engaging Mid-Core gameplay loops that support long-term player retention and monetization.
- Balance game systems using player data, analytics, and qualitative feedback.
- Collaborate with Product and Analytics teams to optimize player funnels and game performance.
Live Operations & F2P Strategy
- Define Live Ops strategies including events, seasonal content, battle passes, limited-time offers, and engagement campaigns.
- Develop monetization strategies that enhance player value while maintaining a fair and enjoyable experience.
- Analyze KPI performance and recommend improvements to retention, engagement, conversion, and monetization metrics.
- Partner with Product and Marketing teams on content cadence and feature roadmaps.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and guide Game Designers, System Designers, and Content Designers.
- Drive design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and cross-functional alignment.
- Work closely with Engineering and Art teams to ensure high-quality feature implementation.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and development of design talent.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional Game Design experience, with at least 2+ years in a Lead or Principal Design capacity.
- Proven experience shipping and operating successful Mid-Core Free-to-Play mobile games.
- Strong expertise in progression systems, game economies, retention mechanics, and monetization design.
- Deep understanding of player psychology, engagement drivers, and behavioral design.
- Experience with Live Operations, seasonal content strategies, and post-launch optimization.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into design decisions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on Sports, Strategy, RPG, Simulation, or Competitive Multiplayer titles.
- Familiarity with product analytics tools such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, Firebase, or similar platforms.
- Experience balancing complex economies and progression systems using data-driven methodologies.
- Understanding of A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, and KPI optimization.
- Experience developing games using Unreal Engine or Unity.
